Crosslands Flower Nursery win marketing support competition
We are delighted to announce that the winner of our Learn to Fish competition is Crosslands Flower Nursery in Walberton, West Sussex. We were hugely impressed by the entry from owner, Ben Cross, who’s energy and passion for his business shone through from the very first sentence.
Ben was humbled and surprised to win, claiming:
“Wow, thanks so much to the Growth Animals team, as I really wasn’t expecting to win this. With over 90% of cut flowers in the UK now being imported, I started the ‘British Flowers Rock!’ campaign in 2014 and it’s brilliant that I’ll have their marketing expertise to help spread the word over the coming months.”
Jen Bayford, Co-Founder and Marketing Director said, “we were hugely impressed with Ben’s entry and are excited to support Ben in getting his message out to the masses and championing his business as being at the forefront of the British flowers movement.”
Ben has also been a great example of a business owner that has developed himself and sought to help others during the pandemic. He donated flowers to NHS front line staff and local care homes during the initial lockdown period and has been doing virtual British Flowers Rock tours/talks during the quarantine.
Everyone’s a winner
We have also decided to give the runners up prize, our Growth Healthcheck, which includes a Brand MOT and an hour-long coaching session, to every single one of the 23 entrants we received. Chris Thornhill, Co-Founder and CEO exclaimed, “we were astounded by the quality of the entries, the amazing stories that we read, and the sheer passion for growth that was evident in every one of those entries. Given that we launched this competition to help small businesses and to demonstrate that now is the best time to invest in growth, we felt compelled to help all that had taken the time to enter.”
The breadth of entries spread across multiple industries and sectors, including music therapy, IT & apps, cars, spirits, luxury travel, healthcare & fitness, business coaching & HR, copywriting and dog walking. We will be scheduling coaching sessions with the winners throughout the next couple of months and have opened up their Growth Healthcheck for anyone to sign on to for the very affordable price of £99.
